Hi, still using version 18.3, and I don't know if I can use a prebuilt generic package of a newer version, but......
I was sending a bunch of message and I am pretty sure not all were sent, but there is no success status or anything.
1) does sending SMS require active NetworkManager connection?
What I know for certain is that the other party sent me SMS back and not all of them arrived, they are not on the modem/sim (mmcli --messaging-list-sms), and they are not in the GUI.
2) Is it possible that there is a bug where MMG throws messages away after retrieving them from sim/modem for larger messages?
3) I don't always see "sending" status, the green progress thing that tells me it is sending, does this mean nothing gets sent?
4) Is it possible to backup or otherwise save the message store?
On a different note, in KDE, 18.3 will, at first start, go into background, on second start, will show empty dialog box I need to close, only on 3rd start does the main program open
clicking on icon (in KDE) also doesn't open main GUI.
This is annoying but not tragical, however losing messages or not knowing whether they have been sent, is much worse!!!!
Are these issues fixed when I use version 19?
I don't know other GUI for modem-manager, I also don't know if Gnocky or Wammu provide better interface, or even work with the modem.
But I need reliable SMS communication, but MMG always deletes messages from modem/sim, and imports them into its own database, then, if something goes wrong, they are gone.
I don't know what to do, I was checking phone bill message by message to see if each one had been sent, still have to check the last hour.
But incoming messages have been lost, because person told me on the phone. Although, maybe it was MMS, but I don't think so.
