Modem Manager GUI is a simple GTK+ based graphical interface compatible with Modem manager, Wader and oFono system services able to control EDGE/3G/4G broadband modem specific functions. You can check balance of your SIM card, send or receive SMS messages, control mobile traffic consumption and more using Modem Manager GUI.
Please note that some features may be not available due to limitations of different system services or even different versions of system service in use.
Modem Manager GUI is distributed under the GNU GPL v3. In order to be entitled to download Modem Manager GUI you must accept the GNU license.

You need some skills to build program from source. First of all, you'll need to install such development packages:
Next you have to go to directory with program's source code and issue these commands:
meson build cd build ninja sudo ninja install
If you prefer good old Autotools, you can use these commands instead:
sh configure make sudo make install
Program files will be copied into your system directories. It's better to build package and install it though. Packages specification files are available in 'packages' directory of source code tree.

Since Fedora 20 you can install Modem Manager GUI from the official repository:
dnf install modem-manager-gui
Since Ubuntu 13.10 you can install Modem Manager GUI from the Universe repository:
sudo apt-get install modem-manager-gui
Of course, you can install it same way in various Ubuntu derivatives, such as Linux Mint, elementaryOS, etc.
Since Debian 7.0 Modem Manager GUI is available from the official repository:
